Filter invalid echo timeouts, average only valid readings, and test target angle and surface. Drive the buzzer through a suitable stage if its current exceeds an I/O pin's rating.

Scope and limitations

HC-SR04 can miss soft, angled, moving, or weather-exposed targets and has no tamper supervision. Do not use it as the sole detector for security, guarding, or personal safety.
