New Dual GMSL2 Camera HAT for Raspberry Pi 5 Unveiled

Introduction of Dual GMSL2 Camera HAT
BE-IIS (Brechel Electronic-Industrial Interface Systems) has unveiled an innovative dual GMSL2 Camera HAT designed specifically for the Raspberry Pi 5. This new board leverages the MAX96716A GMSL2 deserializer, enabling the connection of two remote GMSL2 cameras through the Raspberry Pi's CSI-2 interfaces.
The dual-camera setup has been validated to operate at a resolution of 2304 × 1296, utilizing RAW10 format with two CSI-2 lanes per camera. Both cameras are equipped with the same Sony IMX708 12MP sensors found in the Raspberry Pi Camera Module 3, ensuring high-quality imaging. One of the key advantages of the GMSL2 technology is its ability to maintain low latency while supporting long-range operations, with successful tests conducted over 10-meter coaxial cables.
