Introducing the Nordic nRF54LC10A: A Compact SoC for Bluetooth LE and 802.15.4 Applications

Nordic Semiconductor has recently launched the nRF54LC10A, an innovative system-on-chip (SoC) that enhances its nRF54L Series. This new addition is tailored for compact Internet of Things (IoT) devices, offering a balance of performance and efficiency. Unlike its higher-end counterpart, the nRF54L15, the nRF54LC10A comes with reduced memory and a simplified peripheral set.

Built on a 22nm manufacturing process, the nRF54LC10A integrates a 128 MHz Arm Cortex-M33 processor alongside a multiprotocol 2.4 GHz radio. Notably, it boasts a hibernation mode that consumes less than 50 nA, significantly minimizing battery drain during storage and transport. This feature is particularly beneficial for devices powered by 3V batteries, ensuring longevity and reliability.

With support for Bluetooth LE, Channel Sounding, and IEEE 802.15.4 protocols, the nRF54LC10A is poised to support various applications, including Thread, Zigbee, and Matter. This makes it a versatile choice for developers looking to create efficient and connected devices.
