Introducing the Geekworm UPS Scap 5V5A: A Supercapacitor UPS HAT for Raspberry Pi 5

Geekworm, in partnership with Mcuzone, has introduced the UPS Scap 5V5A, a supercapacitor UPS HAT tailored for the Raspberry Pi 5. This innovative device is engineered to provide just enough power during unexpected outages, allowing the Raspberry Pi to save data and shut down safely, rather than offering extended hours of backup power.

The UPS Scap is available in three capacities: 100F, 60F, and 22F. It incorporates a built-in PD chip that delivers a reliable 5V/5A output, ensuring the Raspberry Pi 5 operates smoothly without triggering low-voltage alerts that can occur with certain power supplies. Additionally, the module connects to the Raspberry Pi 5 via pogo pins to detect power loss and supports I2C for real-time monitoring of voltage and current.

Moreover, the UPS Scap features dual independent power inputs, enabling users to power it through either a wide-voltage DC barrel jack or a standard USB-C PD charger, enhancing its versatility and ease of use.
