A 1.8-inch TFT adds colour graphics and text to Arduino projects. Many modules use an ST7735 controller at 128×160 pixels and communicate over SPI, but connector order and power circuitry vary between breakout boards.
Voltage and logic levels
The ST7735 controller uses 3.3 V logic. Do not connect 5 V Arduino Uno signals directly unless the breakout is documented to include a regulator and logic-level translation. Otherwise use a 3.3 V controller or a suitable level shifter and follow the exact board schematic.
SPI wiring
On an Arduino Uno, hardware SPI commonly uses D13 for SCK and D11 for MOSI. CS, DC, and RESET can be assigned to suitable digital pins and declared in the sketch. The LED pin controls the backlight and may require a resistor or driver. A microSD socket, when fitted, shares the SPI bus with its own CS line.
Libraries and testing
Use Adafruit ST7735 with Adafruit GFX, or another library that explicitly supports the controller on your module. Start with a graphics test, then verify the tab variant, rotation, and colour order if the image appears mirrored or colours are swapped.
