Arduino shields are modular circuit boards that piggyback onto your Arduino to instill it with extra functionality. Want to connect your Arduino to the Internet and post to Twitter? There's a shield for that. Want to make your Arduino an autonomous rover? There are shields for that. There are dozens (hundreds?) of shields out there, all of which make your Arduino more than just a development board with a blinky LED.
THIS SHIELD BOARD PLUGS ON TOP OF AN ARDUINO MEGA (1280 OR 2560) AND MAKES IT EASY TO CONNECT TO ALL THE MANY DIGITAL INPUTS AND OUTPUTS AND THE ANALOG INPUTS.
THIS IS PARTICULARLY GOOD FOR HIGH I/O PROJECTS WITH MANY LEDS OR CONTROLS WHERE CONNECTIONS TO THE MEGA CAN BE A MAJOR PROBLEM.
The RepRap Arduino-compatible MEGA Pololu Shield, or RAMPS for short. It is designed to fit the entire electronics needed for a RepRap in one small package for low cost. RAMPS interfaces an Arduino-compatible Mega with the powerful Arduino-compatible MEGA platform and has plenty room for expansion. The modular design includes plug in stepper drivers and extruder control electronics on an Arduino-compatible MEGA shield for easy service, part replacement, upgrade-ability and expansion.
This Arduino Sensor Shield V5.0 sensor expansion board, the motherboard is not only extended out the Arduino Uno all digits and analog interface to servo line order form , but also add hoc IIC interface, servo controller interface, Bluetooth module communication interface, SD card module communication interface, APC220 radio frequency module communication interface, ultrasonic sensor interface, 12864 LCD serial and parallel interfaces, independent expansion will be more easy and convenient.

This board is widely used for driver expansion board of engraving machin. There are total 4 ways slots for stepper motor driver modules (Model A4988 - It sold separately at our store ), and it can drive 4 ways stepper motors each up to 2A. Each way stepper motor has two I/O ports and it means 6 I/O ports can manage 3 stepper motors. It is very convenient to operate.
The SparkFun Joystick Shield Kit contains all the parts you need to enable your Arduino with a joystick! The shield sits on top of your Arduino and turns it into a simple controller. Five momentary push buttons (4+ joystick select button) and a two-axis thumb joystick gives your Arduino functionality on the level of old Nintendo controllers. Soldering is required, but it’s relatively easy and requires minimal tools.
Arduino Nano Sensor Expansion Board
This board is designed for Arduino NANO IO(Input Output) Expansion Shield to facilitate an easy connection between Arduino Nano Board and many other devices. This board is compatible with Arduino Nano version 2 and version 3.
